Caliber HL-01, component by component
Four assemblies do the work. Here's each one, and the number that matters.
Mainspring Barrel
76-hour power reserve from a single barrel. 1.05 Nm initial torque, held within 8% across the full wind-down.
Gear Train
Five-wheel train, LIGA-fabricated profiles. Tooth tolerance ±2 microns. Skeletonized where mass wasn't earning its keep.
Escapement
Silicon pallet fork and escape wheel. No lubrication required at the impulse faces. Rated to 10 years between services.
Balance Wheel
Free-sprung, variable-inertia. 28,800 vph. Regulated to −1/+4 seconds per day across six positions, verified in-house.
Full spec sheet ships with every watch. So does the torque driver.
212 parts. One argument.

Exterior
The exterior gets the same treatment
Grade 5 titanium case, 39 mm across, 9.8 mm thick. Box-domed sapphire, AR-coated both sides. Screw-down crown, 100 m water resistance. The caseback is sapphire too, obviously. That was the whole point.

The trade
The millimeter we refused
We could have hit 8.9 mm thick. The supplier had a thinner barrel that would have done it, at 52 hours of reserve instead of 76. We built both prototypes. Wore them for a month.
The thin one was a nicer watch to look at on a spec sheet. The 76-hour one was a nicer watch to own. You can set it down Friday night and pick it up Monday morning still running.
So HL-01 is 0.9 mm thicker than it could have been. We'd make that trade again.
52 h at 8.9 mm, or 76 h at 9.8 mm. We picked the weekend.
Reserve
Series 01. 300 watches. Built in order.
Each HL-01 is assembled, regulated, and numbered by one watchmaker, start to finish. We build about six a week. Your slot number is your place in the queue. It's engraved on the barrel bridge.
No deposit games. Reserve the slot, we confirm your build window, you pay when your watch enters assembly.
